At the "Root Cellar" we have a large library resource
which is available for individuals, to help with their research. We have
both a lending section and a reference only section. We have just
completed a reorganisation of the library and have decided to publish
the library list on the website. Click on this link to open the
Root Cellar Library List to view or print the list as
you wish.
We also have a very large library of micro fiches and
films at the Root Cellar which are also available for individuals to use
at the Root Cellar, to help with their research. The list of these
resources will shortly be available on this website.
We have just added
Holmfirth Methodist Circuit Fiche to the library, click on
the title to see the full list.
The Society Publications.
The H&DFHS online shop is now launched
and fully operational.
All of the societies publications are now available to purchase on our own
online shop.
The online shop is administered via the PayPal Secure Site.
Payment can made for items by Credit or Debit Card, or by PayPal
account.
You do not need to have a PayPal account to buy items on our
online shop.
For full and complete lists, follow the links "Census" or "Parish
Records" to go directly to the pages.
Membership Applications and Renewals can now be
completed fully online.
Any search or research request payments,

The Library Sessions and Workshops.
The series of workshops and sessions being held at various
libraries in and around Kirklees have continued well. These are primarily
designed for beginners but using the technology available at the
libraries, the structure becomes more flexible and we have been able to
demolish some fairly substantial brick walls.

The Members Only Website.
Some members may have difficulty in
viewing parts of the members only website. This is unfortunately a
problem caused by some of the more recent versions of some internet
