Batley Town Hall, Market Place, Batley, WF17 5DE.
Admission £2.00. Accompanied children under 16 free.
There are plenty of free, long and short stay car parks in and around Batley.
The event will be at Batley Town Hall and will be held in the Main Hall and Council Chambers.

Whether you are a beginner or a more experienced family history researcher,
or
maybe interested in local history, there will be something for everyone.
All the different societies and organisations that attend these events, are always very keen and willing to help with advice and guidance on what to look for and where to look, offering helpful hints and tips, based on their own personal experiences.
The Huddersfield and District Family History Society will have our own researchers, society members and committee members on hand, to help and advise.
We will have our computers with our own database installed, on hand for anyone who would like to have a search done on the day.
We will also have our full range of transcription booklets and CD's on sale, for purchase on the day.
Light refreshments and sandwiches will be available throughout the day, in the Town Hall.
There will be a free prize draw, which is open to all paying visitors on the
day.

Details of the prizes if not stated, are yet to be confirmed.
We will be having lectures on the day in the Mayors
Chambers in the the Town Hall.

"A Genealogy Software Programme Demonstration", by Mr Tony Beardshaw.
Places for the lectures will be limited and allocated on a first come first served basis, so you are advised to book your places on arrival at the event, from the Huddersfield & District Family History Society stand, near the stage at the front of the main hall..
We expect to have a good selection of Family History Societies, Local History Societies and
a variety of Trade Organisations attending the event.

** Please note that the prizes for the
free draw are offered by individual businesses.
Huddersfield and
District Family History Society have accepted the offers of the prizes in
good faith,
on the assumption that the prizes will be donated for the
sole purpose of the free draw for this fair only. Should that prize
not be donated for whatever reason by the individual business,
then
H&DFHS will not be liable to offer an alternative. **
** The free draw prize winners, will be contacted on the day
of the fair where-ever possible.
The winners names and home towns only, will be posted on this page of the website, the
day after the fair. Anyone entering the free draw is deemed to agree to this condition.
