The Root Cellar
“The Root Cellar, Research Centre”, 35 Greens End Road, Meltham, Holmfirth. HD9 5NW. The Society also has a research facility at Bleak House, Batley. Click here for details. The Root Cellar is open as follows: Monday: 2.00pm to 4.30pm.
Tuesday: 2.00pm to 4.30pm.
Wednesday: 10.00am to 12.30pm and 2.00pm to 4.30pm. Thursday: 2.00pm to 4.30pm, and alternate Thursday evenings 7.30pm to 10.00pm
Thursday evening dates: January 17th & 31st, February 14th and 28th, March 14th & 28th April 11th & 25th, May 9th & 23rd, June 6th & 20th Friday: Closed. Saturday: 2.00pm to 4.30pm. We would also ask that if travelling a long
distance to visit the Root Cellar, it is advisable to telephone

The interior of the New Root Cellar 
We are always looking for volunteers to help on the desk or to help our visitors, and of course, transcribe and training is available. Accommodation is tight but we manage.
