What we can offer to members and others via our website
Although until recently we had been having a few problems with our Forum, a new version is now up and running on the Society website. Forum topics can be read by all, but it is necessary to register and login in order to reply or add new topics. This will be an ideal way to maintain conversations with like-minded people about our family and local history whilst we are more confined to our own homes. The old Forum remains accessible as an archive. A few volunteers will also be keeping an eye on the Forum and trying to help wherever possible.
If you need specific help with research, a member of our research team will be monitoring and answering requests. Please note that this is a paid for service at £6.00 per hour for members and £8.00 per hour for non-members and can be accessed through the website Root Cellar page.
If you use Facebook, please also consider following us by searching for Huddersfield Family History.
We also have a Twitter account - @HDFHS01, which is updated regularly and is a further option for information. If you don’t have a Twitter account, you can follow our Twitter feed on the website.
Don’t forget that we have a wide range of publications on sale via our website which includes our own transcriptions of baptisms, marriages, burials and memorial inscriptions. We also sell a limited range of family and local history related books as well as our very popular Ancestral Notebooks and House History Research notebooks.
Finally, if you have a general Society enquiry please visit the web site ‘Contacts’ page and select ‘Society Secretary’ to send your message.
