      Hello,
I’m researching my Kaye family and pubs in Farnley Tyas. Does anyone know where I can find the 1805 terrier map of the Dartmouth Estate (Farnley Tyas) and the legend that goes with it? There is a picture on page 20 of Caroline Page’s book “Farnley Tyas A History” but the resolution isn’t good enough to read even when it’s enlarged. Any other early maps showing the occupants and/or the names of the farms might also be useful.

      Hi Jackie
Thanks for the tip. They replied promptly, telling me that the Dartmouth Estate Map of 1805 is held by West Yorkshire Archive Service, Kirklees branch. Their ref no is KC592/3/3. I haven’t heard from them yet, but they’re open on Mondays.
      Sheila
