Hi I have recently been doing some research on an old photo album, and one of the pictures is a victorian lady reading a book outside her home. Above the door on the glass it says Pilling Hill, and the back Huddersfield. I wondered if anyone had heard of this property and knew any history on it. Many thanks
There is Pilling Lane at Skelmanthorpe with Pilling House there and also Pilling Top, a house off Pilling Top Lane at Shelley, this is off Green House Hill, an extension of Barkhouse Lane at Shelley. Both shown on the 1893 OS map.
