Library Drop In Sessions

The Society supports Family History sessions at a number of libraries throughout Kirklees. Details are shown below.
Some sessions are run 'by appointment' so prior enquiry is advisable.

Libraries not included in the list may also provide support for Family History research so please enquire at local libraries to check out the current offers. All Kirklees libraries have computer access to Ancestry Library Edition for library ticket holders.

HolmfirthH&D FHS supports sessions 1.30pm to 3.30pm, 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Please contact the library for more details. Updated April 2016
GolcarFirst Tuesday morning of the month. Booking essential.
Mirfield1st and 3rd Wednesday in the month commencing 3 September 2014 - 2.00 to 4.00 pm. Updated July 2014

SkelmanthorpeH&D FHS supports monthly sessions, usually Monday afternoons, 2.00 to 4.00pm. Details available from the library. Updated April 2016

    Sorry about the delay in replying.
    A Holmfirth Library session is probably your nearest Library where you will get assistance in getting started on your Family History research.
    You will also be very welcome at The Society Root Cellar in Meltham which is open every day except Sunday – see the Root Cellar page of this web site for times – appointments not necessary.

  2. Hello, what times are the Honley library sessions? I live in New Mill so Denby Dale and Holmfirth are options too. I have been told Meltham drop in is available every day? I have no idea how to go about tracing my family tree!
